I was given it , but that was 10 years ago, so the rules could have changed. Ask the pharmacist in your local chemist, they should be able to telly ou.
Its not nice when you get so constiapted is it? I used to get like that

Yes, it is - was in hospital early in my pregnancy and they shovelled it into me. The other one which is ok is Lactulose, but don't know if that is available over the counter. AVOID Senakot. Maybe try dried apricots - they are even more, er, activating than prunes...

fibrogel is the business i took it after having dd and it worked really fast. unfortunately my father was having similiar results and took some just before he left for the airport with hilarious consequences. ask your pharmacist

if you do take it make sure you keep your fluid levels up as it needs to have water in your system to work well.

I was given Lactulose in hospital whilst pg at about 10 weeks, then they stopped it as I was dehydrated. Lactulose works by diverting water from elsewhere in your body to your bowel, so if you're dehydrated it makes it worse. nd liquorice, dried apricots and dried prunes did the job, and intend to have them all in my bag when I go back to hopsital to have the baby.
