Placenta Previa

Hi - I’m just wondering if anyone had been diagnosed with placenta previa and has taken a short flight? I had my 20 week scan this week and my placenta is totally converting my cervix. I am due to fly an hour away for a weekend at 22 weeks - I will still have access to healthcare. I wanted to see if anyone else had been in a similar position?

Thanks!

Was the doctor not able to give any recommendations?

My midwife said the flight isn’t a concern, as long as I have access to a hospital. My GP said to speak to the airline, but didn’t give too much guidance.

What does the doctor say. Having been born at 35 weeks with cerebral palsy as a result of placenta privia myself, I would be wary of flying, but that was in 1982 and I am not a doctor.

They probably don’t want to commit. Checking with your insurance company is probably the next step as they may require a letter from the GP. Is there no way you can just cancel?

I had PP and was kept in hospital lying down for 9 weeks until I had a CS . That was 1979 , I guess things have changed but what happens if you abrupt not near a hospital . I'd try to insist on advice from your gynae .

I had placenta previa and was in hospital when I started bleeding at 32 weeks, by the time I had alerted a nurse the blood had soaked all over my clothes, I ended up having an emergency cesarian. My Dr said if I'd have been at home (10 miles away) we would both of been dead by the time I got to the hospital, so if I were you, I'd stay at home
