Mysterious dark patch of skin behind legs 14 weeks

Hi all,

I can't see a similar thread anywhere but today I woke up to this patch behind my left leg. This is my second pregnancy and I had nothing like this with my first. It is not itchy etc. I'm 14 weeks pregnant with a boy.

Has anyone had this before? Its no where else on my body and I have no other health concerns.

Quite normal for skin to darken during pregnancy! My armpits and neck went a bit darker... there's a medical name for it but can't remember it. Mine went as soon as I gave birth!

Thank you! It was just so sudden and shock to see this morning. I've to go to the Drs tomorrow so will update the thread in case anyone else has the same. Thanks again

I think it is melasma, which is known as chloasma in pregnancy. Look it up on the NHS website if you can- I can't do a link. Not harmful if it is that.
