Provera for retained products

How long did it take you to bleed after stopping provera? I was on a 10 day course of 20mg a day to induce a bleed to expel rpoc folllwing a MMC, I finished the course 4 days ago and still not bleed, is this normal? Or has it probably failed and I’ll need surgical management?

Hi there. Sorry to hear about your MMC. I had RPOC and was prescribed misoprostol (so a bit different to you). My experience was it did absolutely nothing - not even a single cramp. I waited a couple of days and decided I didn’t want to waste any more time and went for a hysteroscopy to remove. It was done under a general and I recovered quickly.
