First signs of labour?

I’m 35 weeks and counting down the days after a horrible pregnancy!

I was induced first time round so haven’t experienced naturally occurring labour so wondered what peoples first signs and symptoms were?

Unmistakable and hard labour contraction that took my breath away and couldn’t have been anything else, followed less than a minute later by another then another which within ten minutes became one continuous contraction. Swiftly followed by waters and then by a baby.

A little bit like I imagine being hit by a truck to be. No guesswork required.

1st - losing mucus plug, contractions, then vomiting/diarrhoea. Intense back pain (baby was back to back). 12 hours labour plus epidural.
2nd - was resting on my bed when suddenly my waters broke, then contractions. Had baby exactly 4 hours later.
3rd - had a sweep on my due date, contractions & vomiting that evening. 10 hours labour.
The vomiting/diarrhoea thing was weird and I didn't expect it, but afterwards I was told it was my body 'purging' itself before labour.

My first signs were bleeding for a day or so, baby came 3 days later (first baby).

With my first I had a little blood when wiping (39 +2 weeks) in the afternoon but didn’t really think anything of it. From around 8pm onwards I started getting very mild contractions but they were so mild and just annoying that I didn’t even really consider them to be early labour pains🫣

Contractions started gradually getting worse and at 4am we went to the hospital where I was told I was already 5cm dilated🫨

Lost mucus plug at 39 weeks. On off nausea, Braxton hicks. Day before Labour started had intense pressure in my pelvis. Then just started off with very very mild period style cramps (6pm Sunday) that came and went and gradually got more intense to proper contractions. Baby born 11am the next day.

Thanks everyone, this is so interesting to read!

I’ve been having such intense pressure in my bum and back pain and today period pain all day, I’m sure it’s nothing as I’m only 35+4 but feeling horrendous (the story of my pregnancy). Also going to the toilet about 7 times a day 💀

With my first I was induced at 38 weeks and it’s took a lot to get me into proper labour, really hoping it’s different this time round.

I’m 36&1 and have no signs as of yet. Have to be induced 37/38 weeks because of PROM and hoping it doesn’t take long.
