Am I in labour?

I’m 39+2, been having tightenings all day but in the past hour they have been frequent, every 10 mins at least lasting 1 minute. However they are all in my back?

My waters haven’t broken and I’ve had a bit of mucousy discharge but not loads. This is my second baby and my first was a planned section so I’m not sure what to expect from labour. I’m supposed to be having a second section but it’s not scheduled until 41 weeks. Would you call the hospital yet?

Sounds like you've started, give them a ring and they'll probably ask you to go in
Good luck! ❤️

Yep this is it.
all my contractions were in my back when I was induced.

Are they painful OP? It can’t hurt to call for advice

FullOfMomsense · 25/12/2025 18:08

I would say yes!

mammot23 · 25/12/2025 18:09

Give them a call love, especially because you’ve had a c section before xx good luck xx

Me too - first baby had back tightening all day - by evening they were regular 8 mins apart. Waters went suddenly early hours. Baby came at noon.

Ring them up and tell them everything you're feeling, it's the only way to know whether to go or not. It does sound like you need to go to the hospital, though. Good luck and congratulations on your baby! ❤

firstofallimadelight · 25/12/2025 21:50

If they are painful and every ten mins (even if you move around)it’s worth ringing in. With my youngest I was told to come in at every 3 mins (we are10 min drive from hospital)

Horrorscope · 25/12/2025 23:38

I guess you’ve gone in because I’d say you’re definitely in labour! Good luck x

Pinkstuffs · 26/12/2025 02:24

Yes baby was born at 11.40pm by csection! I was 5cm when I got to hospital and glad I went in when I did as the uterus was apparently very thin.
