Is this the "show"? Help a clueless first timer

Now 8 days past EDD and had a failed stretch & sweep yesterday morning (cervix posterior, uneffaced, undilated). Last night had a big change in discharge (TMI ALERT) egg-whitey type sticky mucous and quite a lot of it. Today its more (Sorry, I know!) yellowy and in bigger lumps (a bit phlegm-like). Now that I can't think of any more disgusting descriptions, is this part of the mucus plug or is it coz of the mw poking about in there?

Thank you ladies! I suspected it might be, but at 8 days over, I've almost given up hope of baby leaving its comfy home.
