HCG Levels!

Looking for some reassurance from others who have had HCG levels vary from first pregnancy to second pregnancy.

I had two miscarriages before I had my son in 2024.
I had two miscarriages after him and am now pregnant again.

My HCG levels with my first successful pregnancy where..
5w 2d - 1531
6w 2d - 14543
6w 5d - 23968
7w 2d - 37541

This pregnancy they are significantly lower, but still rising..
6w 0d - 2317
6w 2d - 4477
6w 4d - 6994

Would love to hear stories from anyone who experienced the same.. I’m going crazy waiting for an ultrasound 😬

Hi OP, can’t help with the HCG levels as not something I have experience in. But I understand pregnancy after loss, and how difficult it can be.

you’re over 6 weeks now, so would you book a private scan? This would be the best way to give reassurance rather than testing HCG.

Morning, I have a history of recurrent miscarriage from 2021 - 2023 before the safe delivery of my DS in Summer 23.

I am 7 weeks pregnant today. I paid for a private HCG at 5wk3days which was 7058. I repeated the HCG again 6wk3days and the result is 30786.

Now I am spiralling as I was expecting the numbers to double every 48 hours! Although there’s a lot of stuff online saying that it slows down in the 6th week to 72 hours…

Tempted to call EPU for a scan but I really don’t want bad news before Christmas

Update: after a day of googling like crazy it seems that once HCG hits the 6000 mark it takes longer than 48 hours to double. There is reference to a 96 hour mark! This makes a lot more sense, as if my 6w 3d HCG was to double at 48 hour period it would be at around 120,000 for 7w which is way too high. Looking at the jump from 7058 (5w 3d) to 30786 (6w 3d) the 3.4 day increase seems normal (I hope).

I have managed to book a scan with EPU on Tuesday so I’ll feedback from there.

Your HCG levels look fine.. like mentioned in my post I’m worried about my HCG levels of 6994 being low for 6w, compared to your 6 week levels of 30,000…

Although my numbers are high in comparison they haven’t doubled every 48 hours. Your numbers are just shy of 48 hour increase which is a good sign. After researching it says once they hit 6000 they take longer to rise so I would suspect this is the same in your case. When is your ultrasound? It’s so hard not to compare to previous pregnancies x
