Do these sound like contractions?

I’m 38+2 with DC2, but DC1 was a planned csection at 39 weeks due to IUGR so I didn’t go into labour.

Since this afternoon I’ve been having tightenings which I thought were braxton hicks especially as I’ve been doing a lot around the house to get ready for baby. I also feel quite thirsty so been trying to hydrate. But the last couple have been more painful more like period cramps and in my thighs as well as my bump? I’m supposed to be having a second section so not sure if they are contractions and if I need to call triage?

I'd call triage, they might ask you to come in for monitoring, to check if they're contractions? Sounds like they could be. Are they at regular-ish intervals?

Good luck!

Sounds like it might be something gearing up. Might be worth ringing up if you're getting a section.

If it's a false alarm then it's a false alarm, no harm done. But it might not be.

When I was in labour I found I just couldn't settle during the early stages, I was up and down like a jack in the box. Just couldn't sit.

Did it turn out to be labour OP? X

I don’t think so!! They died down after a bath and I’ve not had many tightenings today. Haven’t lost my plug yet either which did happen with my previous baby.
