Hey ladies, I have my 38 week midwife appointment tomorrow. I’ll be 38+2.
Just wondering what usually happens at these appointments so I’m prepared haha 😂
Was anyone offered a sweep at 38 weeks?

No sweep offered for me no. If i remember correctly from first baby nothing much happens. Urine test, measure bump. Off you go....

I was offered a sweep with my second baby at 38 weeks which I swore to myself I wouldn't have one until 40+ weeks but was taken aback when she offered me one and just went for it as I was so uncomfortable and wanted baby out. It didn't work though and despite weekly sweeps had baby at 41+2.

It is very midwife dependent it seems but most don't offer them that early unless you are booked for an induction before 40 weeks and want to aim for spontaneous labour rather than induction. This wasn't the case for me- she just offered it to me.

6dc, never offered a sweep before 40 weeks.

At 38 weeks just a normal appointment
