Possible miscarriage…

Hi guys, i did a pregnancy test on the 10th Dec (period was due 8th nov, was late which is unlike me as it’s like clockwork, also had swollen breasts and nausea) and had a negative. Took another test on the 12th Dec first wee of the day and had what looks like positive (photo attached). Woke up Monday with lots of blood in knickers. Went to get checked out, had urine sample and bloods done which they said came back as normal for HCG. She said it’s possible it’s an early miscarriage but also possible to be my period. I would have been est 5 weeks pregnant if that was the case. The bleeding was accompanied by a lot of cramping and the amount of blood loss at once was very unusual for my normal periods, usually I bleed slowly over time, this was a large amount of fresh red blood at once. Luckily I am ok. Can anyone tell me if this photo of my pregnancy test looks positive? I’ve never had a false positive before so I’m confused if this was a miscarriage or not. Thank you.

Yes that looks like a positive test.
Sounds like you may have experienced a chemical, @mumof2xboys
Sorry you are going through this

It could well be a chemical pregnancy.

I had just one day of nausea and sore boobs, with a faint positive test and then future tests were negative and bleeding came 3 days later heavier than normal.

Thank you for your response. Is a chemical pregnancy the same as a pregnancy loss?

Edited

So sorry to hear this. I’ve never experienced this before so I am completely confused. I’ve certainly never had a false positive before, only ever a false negative if anything

It could just be a dud test. I’ve had a result like this on one of those tests and wasn’t pregnant.

Thanks for the insight. I’ve never experienced a false positive before. Only false negatives when I tested too early with my 2 boys.

These were my tests. The next one was completely negative.
Often you don't even know you're having a chemical since the positive is so fleeting and early that you may not have even tested.

That one is very clearly positive! It’s crazy that this happens. I took the test because I was feeling very sick, my boobs were so swollen the veins were popping out, and my period was slightly late.

A chemical occurs where the sperm and egg meet but they are not compatible so HCG will start to rise for maybe 1 or 2 days unfortunately. Most people would never know of chemicals as generally they'd think they are just a few days late.

Hopefully you are doing OK. It sucks
