Any tips on how to help sore hips and pains down your legs in preg?

I am 29 weeks preg and every time I have been sat down for longer than afew minutes, when I stand I have trouble moving my right leg. If I try to do it straight away, it just collapses but if I sort of wiggle my hips then start to walk, the pain wears off after I have walked for afew steps.

Sometimes when I am sat for a long period of time say in the evening, I get shooting pains down my right thigh too.

I know that having a dd who is 17months and only just walking has not helped as carrying her is unavoidable and it is much better when DH is off work and can do the lifting.

Any tips would be a huge help as it is getting worse the bigger I get!

pelvic tilts

You could have
Pelvic Joint Pain

if you think that you may have this, speak to your midwife about the possibility of pre-natal pysiotherapy. I had it (undiagnosed) and was in pain for weeks before and after the birth of my son. I knew someone (from a different health authority) who had it diagnosed early and got some physio and had crutches to help support her weight and was fine much sooner after childbirth...

Thanks bluebutterfly, but I have 2 under three atm (ds1 will be 3 afew weeks before I am due to have this one) so physio therapy is not really an option as I would have no-one to look after them. Also dreading it getting worse as there is no way I could push a buggy, keep tracks on ds and walk with crutches!

Scienceteacher- Wasnt sure if I would do any damage doing pelvic tilts?

Has one of those big blow up balls helped anyone with this?
