Vitamin levels in Proceive prenatal excessively high?

I’ve been taking Proceive conception and trimester 1 prenatal and just read some reviews saying that some of the vitamins are at very high levels? I popped the ingredients into chat gpt and I’m just a bit worried now as to whether to continue taking it or not, or maybe take it every other day? I’d heard great things before starting it so just a bit confused now!

Goodness I hope not! I never knew this! I used the procieve vitamins when ttc and during the first trimester.... Currently 33 weeks. I should say I was very happy on them and felt they caused less nausea in 1st trimester compared to pregnacare that I used in previous pregnancies.

Wow, that's interesting! I took Proceive throughout my pregnancy and gave birth to a healthy little boy. Had a very easy pregnancy too, so hopefully there's no need for you to worry too much. I wonder how much ChatGPT is looking at studies that aren't particularly persuasive/ well-proven? My midwife was aware that I was taking Proceive and didn't warn against it.

@Blessedandthankful I haven’t had any issues with taking them either. It was just when I came across some other women’s posts mentioning that some of the levels are excessively high that I started to look into it. I double checked and chat GPT was correct that some of the vitamins are significantly above the RDA. I’m sure the prenatal is well tested but it just doesn’t sit right with me to be consuming higher levels of vitamins than are recommended in pregnancy, especially as it’s meant to be taken daily. I know any excess B vitamins will be excreted out in urine but I’m a bit concerned about vitamin E. I’m glad you didn’t have any issues taking it, I’m leaning towards stopping just for my peace of mind.

@SalmonRunner that reassuring to hear that all went well for you! I don’t think it was looking into studies, I just asked it to compare the amount of vitamins in Proceive to the RDA and several of the vitamins were significantly higher than the recommended amount. I know loads of women have taken it and haven’t had any issues but I don’t feel comfortable taking it daily knowing how high some of the levels are and that they’re above the amount that’s recommended in pregnancy. I posted on another forum and someone suggested contacting the company that make them which I might do just to see if there’s a reason why the amounts are so much higher than the RDA.
