I’m curious, did your second baby have a similar/ longer or shorter gestation that your first?

I am currently expecting baby number 2 šŸ’•

Longer. First came spontaneously at 39+2, second at 40+5. My third came at the same gestation as DC1, 39+2.

Much shorter! We squeaked into 35 weeks.. waters broke at work, (am nhs) at 0745 after feeling a bit off on way to work… the newbie fy1s in ED were VERY excited thinking they might get to deliver… baby born by emergency csect 0830.. all well, fit and fighting!

Second came earlier. First at 37+2 and second at 35+6. Both times I just knew baby would be early and second time, had no expectations of getting close to 37+2 and was right.

Much longer.
The first was born at 35 weeks and the second was born at 43 weeks.

Second came earlier.

first 4 days early
second 10 days early
third 3 weeks early (induced though)

as they got earlier they also got smaller which I was happy about as dc1 was 9lb 12oz!

scaredfriend · 12/12/2025 23:54

Shorter. DC1 T+13 (induced). DC2 T+3 (spontaneous).
