Hi all,

Anxious mum here, previous MMC this year.

I am out of town and in London. I'm going home today.

My mum has a baby gate with some string on and I want downstrairs late last night and thought I took it off. I didn't and walked right into the hard string on my belly. (I'm 29 weeks pregnant) It did hurt but after ok, and no marks. No belly ache or bleeding.

I am not normally up during the night, might go for a wee or drink and don't feel feel baby. I have been up due to worry and baby has been moving a lot. I called my maternity unit and they said both are probably unrelated but the increased movements we would say to come in for a check. Do you think I'm overreacting or should I go to the hospital here or wait till later when I'm home?

I was never told with my son about increased movements so this is new to me aswell

Thank you xx

If you're worried go and get seen - no harm in getting seen, you are not wasting anyone's time, that's what they're there for - to reassure you.

Hey, if you ever get a change of movements go and get seen. The staff would rather see and send home a happy baby and mum.

I went in once with excessive movements and never had it like that for my baby. She was, for want of a better word, frantic. I was 40+5 when I went in, and the team said it's unusual they have mum's coming in for too much movement. The staff were honestly really lovely, got seen and given the all clear but I still wasn't happy and was planning to go back in. Baby had other ideas and my waters went that night, meconium in them so something was going on with her.

Always listen to your baby! That's what the staff are there for x
