Hi,

I am currently registered with Frimley; however, they do not allow partners overnight according to their visiting guidelines. I am super anxious about not having my partner there with me overnight on the postnatal ward. I'm thinking of changing to St Peter's as they say they allow your partner to stay, but the more I've read, it says it's only in the private side rooms. Does anyone have any recent experience of having your baby at St Peters, and the chances of my partner being able to stay on the ward overnight if I have to stay in?

I'm pretty sure Frimley do allow partners to stay overnight (like all maternity wards there's no bed for them. They have to sleep in an upright chair) - just ask your midwife at the next appointment what they allow.

I am registered to Frimley. We originally registered there and Royal Surrey, ended up going with Frimley as it’s nearer. Royal Surrey allow partners to stay, this also put me off them. I think the last thing you want after giving birth and being knackered is other women’s husbands snoring away while you are trying to get some much needed sleep.

You might not even have to stay in, the nurses and midwife’s are there for you too.

I had a private room at St Peter’s, but my partner want allowed to stay and if I remember there was no men on the ward after the end of visiting hours and they’d really make sure everyone was gone
