calf leg cramp

I've been having this horrible leg cramp in my left calf throughout the night. I wake up every couple of hours and it hurts - it's really tight and if I flex my foot, just hurts more. The way I have found to stop the pain is to sit up and let my feet touch the ground, then put some pressure on my legs... after a few minutes, the pain resides a bit... anyone else had this? I'm 22 weeks

Leg cramps are quite common in pregnancy unfortunately! I haven't got them myself, but I know other people have found eating bananas to be helpful. That and drinking lots of water.

also drink tonic water - the quinnine helps with cramp!!

(I sympathise I had a really bad episode one summer's morning when pregnant it was very early and all my windows were open and i am sure I woke the neighbours up with my swearing!!)
