Hi all,

had a positive test today after an early miscarriage last month. Currently 8 or 9dpo, how do the drs work out dating etc? And how did you stop being so anxious?

so anxious and not sure how my dating would go for when I’m due.

Tentative congratulations.

I'm guessing you re-tested with a negative test after your MC so you know for sure that this is a new pregnancy? Only because I tested positive for weeks and weeks after both my miscarriages. I believe day 1 is counted as the first day that your MC started. That's as accurate as they can date it.

And the anxiety is hard to get over! Probably worse for me now as in total I've had 3 losses (one was a chemical) after having my first child. I'm now 9 weeks into a new pregnancy and I still can't get excited. Once I get further than my losses were (which is now, but I worry about MMC..) then I'll begin to relax.

I am sorry for your loss
I had a MMC at 12 weeks with surgical intervention and then got pg 1 week later, which I had no idea was even possible!
My period hadn't returned so I was basically pg for a year.
My GP and MW were wonderful and very reassuring and I was well looked after, although I did have some extra scans privately too
I have to admit it was hard mentally but DD is 21 next year and awesome and I have a 17 year old too
Best of luck x

Thankyou! Iv tested negative for the 3 weeks following the mc, it was an early one so Dr said I could ovulate 2 weeks later.
