Omega 3 Algae Supplements

Hey all. Just after some of your opinions on supplementing Omega 3 with Algae based supplements. I don't eat fish at all and I'm aware Omega 3 is important in pregnancy. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant. I have bought some Algae Vegan Source supplements from the brand "together health". I called my local midwife team to ask if they were okay but the lady told me she didn't know and to check with the pharmacy. I then popped in to my pharmacy just to double check they were okay to take before I started but she said from personal experience supplimenting Omega 3 gave her headaches so she wouldn't bother and normal pregnancy vitamins is all that was needed. This didn't really give me too much advice as to whether I should take them or not. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with supplementing with these or any past advice you may have had from health care professionals. I debated calling my GP but getting an appointment or phone call is very difficult at my surgery so thought I'd ask on here first. Sorry for the rambling!

I also don’t eat fish (but eat meat) I take the Proceive omega 3 which is fish oil. I read somewhere algae based supplements aren’t well absorbed and fish oil is preferable. I’d definitely supplement it as omega 3 is important for the brain.
