Bloody show 37+2 days pregnant!

This is my third pregnancy and I have been having on and off tightenings since the past two days. Today (Sunday 12am) I had my bloody show (mucus with pink tinge to it). And have been having tightenings on and off. I was checked at hospital and my cervix is now open and was 1cm dilated at 1:30pm. the day before cervix was closed. Has anyone experienced the same? Or any midwives who have any advice? How long could it take until I am in active labour? Thank you ☺️ 💕

I was only in labour 5 hours from 1cm to fully given birth it happened quickly x

The only time I actually had a show, the baby was born within a few hours ( 37 weeks). I had 2 babies before that with no show at all.

Ah i feel so deflated! It’s been 18 hours and I’m still not in active labour 😩

Were all different. Won't be long now for you, though these last hours/days seem to drag on.

It was about 24 hours from losing my plug to having proper contractions. I did a lot of walking and ball bouncing!

It can be days, even weeks OP. Try and relax, drink plenty, walk lots and rest when you can.
Latent phase can be harder than actual labour.

I just had a whole load of mucus plug come out

@soappyblue 37 weeks 2 days is quite early isn't it? This must have caught you off guard! Hope all progresses smoothly. It took me 3 days to give birth post first bloody mucus discharge but I was past due date so not surprised!

I lost a large chunk of my mucus plug last night. This morning I was checked and I am 1-2cm dilated. Midwife managed to give me a sweep. She said my cervix is very soft. Anyone had any success with a sweep?

My waters broke right after my sweep (literally when I stood up after it to put my trousers on). I actually lost my plug after the sweep, I had been losing bits but a few hours after the sweep it was very dark and bloody. Contractions started 24 hours ish later. It did end in a csection but that was largely due to the length of time that my waters had gone coupled with the fact my baby was very small for gestational age.
