I’ve just found out that I am pregnant with my second. First DC is only 10 months so there will be roughly 18 months apart. Im spiralling and wondering how on earth we will cope with 2 under 2! Please can you let me know your experiences?

I've a 12 month gap between my two. Pregnancy and the first 2 years were the hardest for me (I had two non-sleepers) but after that things became infinitely more manageable.

It'll be hard, but any age gap has it's pros and cons and you're already in it now so the decision of what's the "best" age gap has been resolved for you (I don't believe there is a best age gap but I prefer mine over what I've seen over most of my friends!).

There really are loads of benefits, it's just hard to imagine it now. You'll get there though!

14m between my 2 and I’d do it again in a heartbeat if I had my time again. At 9&8 they’re now like twins to look at. The first year was tough. And fuck me it’s hard being pregnant when you’ve got a 1 year old! But you’ll be fine. Accept the help, and, ask for it!
if it was up to me I’d have had a 3rd straight after but DH said nope!

Thank you so much for your responses. I was so shocked as DC1 took 6 years of trying and ultimately IVF to conceive. I know you are extra fertile after a baby and have heard the stories of people conceiving naturally after IVF but never thought it would happen to me. Slowly getting my head around 2 under 2!

Congratulations, you’ll be fine - within a year or two.

This was me 3 years ago. Fertility treatment for 1st, surprise pregnancy 9m post natal. I’m now due my 3rd. I’ll have 3 under 4. It’s not that bad actually - gets harder when they’re 2 and 3 x

I had three within two years. Yes it was chaos but also loads of fun. They're all close and we got through the stages at the same time so less tiring for example than a baby, a nursery run and school.
