HCG levels dropped

Hi, looking for some hope but I don't think there is going to be.
My daughter had 2 embryos implanted via IVF, tested positive last week, great news.
Had a very light bleed at the weekend but blood HCG level still 500.
Just had another test and dropped to 48.
We think it's a miscarriage but has anyone else had this and it was possiblity a twin that was lost and things were ok. I'm not holding out much hope, but I'm devastated for my daughter and her husband.

Do you mean it’s dropped from 500 to 48 in about 4-5 days? Or is there a typo in there? That’s quite a rapid drop if it’s correct and if I’m honest I would be preparing for miscarriage. Obviously no one can say for definite but that’s what I would expect if it were me.

Unfortunately yes, but she still had a very strong mark on the pregnancy test that was done on the Sunday evening. Just so unfair

Dear Newnanny12, so sorry to hear this. I tend to agree with CrappyBottle. How far along would your daughter be now.
That is quite a big HCG drop, even for a twin loss. Sending empathy here. X
