Failed sweep

Hi , just after other people’s experiences if anyone will be willing to share? I’m currently 38 weeks pregnant with baby number 2 my first labour story was a failed induction, failure to progress leading to a emergency c section. This time I’m hoping for a VBAC however I do have a c section pre booked incase little one doesn’t make his appearance soon (as I refuse a further induction). I’m willing to have sweeps etc and had an attempted sweep today however she found my cervix but said baby’s head was too high she tried to put pressure to guide baby’s head but was unsuccessful and therefore she couldn’t actually perform the sweep as no head was present. Like I said above I’m really hopeful for a VBAC is there anyone else who had the same sort of experience and still went into natural labour?

I can’t comment on your situation and I’m sorry you had a bad experience with induction.

With my first baby, I had a sweep at 39+1 and 39+5 both with baby in good position and 2cm, then 3cm dilated but nothing happened at all. I had a further sweep at 40+6 and nothing. I required induction at 41 weeks. I had a very positive induction experience, but as I said baby was engaged and I was dilating steadily.

I’m pleased you had a positive induction experience, it’s so different for everyone isn’t it! Also, the reason I’ve declined a induction this time is there isn’t many ways they can infact use due me having a previous section so feel it will be pointless to try the only way I’m going to get my VBAC is if little one is ready and comes on his own!
