Revolted by bowel movements??

I know this may sounds strange but since I became pregnant I have really struggled with retching when I have a bowel movement. I think it’s due to heightened smell but now it happens every time and sometimes I vomit. Even the brief sight, smell or sometimes even knowing I am having a bowel movement and I start to retch. Has anyone experienced this and does anyone have any advice? It’s starting to really affect me and it’s happening every single time I go 🥺 x

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Would a nose peg help? Like the sort synchronised swimmers wear?

Oh dear, you're going to be in for some fun times if it carries on after pregnancy 😬

I was the same - it’s absolutely awful! I had to hold my nose to do a poo. My sense of smell was very heightened and all sorts of things set me off. It peaked in the first trimester and then eased off.

Hi @GooseyGandalf thanks for your message and it’s good to know I’m not alone! A lot of others online seem to say the same thing. It’s awful! I’m 12w1d now and really hoping it calms down like yours did! x

@AnonKat I’m so sorry to hear you had this too - isn’t it awful! Did you find anything that helped? x

Pop some Olbus Oil on a cloth and stick that in front of your face. You won't be able to smell anything else.

Honestly opening a window and being as quick as possible! Gagging over everything is the worst.
