Scan at 8 weeks. Worrying

I started with some light brown discharge on Friday. It’s continued, very light and not every time I wipe but there is a small brown patch on a pad.
I woke up at 5:30 to be sick today and although in previous pregnancy my morning sickness really ramped up by 8 weeks. I am worrying I’m having an ectopic pregnancy. I haven’t had any cramping but I have had a dull ache in my lower back for an hour yesterday evening.
I have a scan booked for Monday and I just can’t shake the worst feeling.
Has anyone had this and been okay?
I’ve already had a chemical and a miscarriage this year so I am expecting the worst I think.

I had also convinced myself I had had a miscarriage after having a huge bleed with clots that lasted over 2days. I couldn’t believe it when I had my scan and they found a heartbeat… it was such a worrying period. Hoping it all works out for you and you also receive a happy result.

Hi OP. I have had 3 ectopics in 2 years. They are quite rare, but just want to share my experiences in case helpful, which was that the classic signs weren't there (no shoulder tip pain, etc). I had a 'burning' feeling across the bladder area (was told it was probably a UTI), intense cramping, but which also felt like the same burning pain but around my ovaries, and some gastro symptoms. I also had low back pain. I went to an out-of-hours GP initially who was baffled but my HR was increasing as was the pain, so we went to A&E. If you are worried and symptoms become more intense, do consider seeing someone quicker, as ectopics can be very dangerous. Happy to chat if you need it. Best of luck and hopefully it can be easily explained and sorted.

I had this is my second pregnancy at 11 weeks. I had lost a twin pregnancy MMC previously so was terrified. Although I can’t say for sure the outcome of your pregnancy I just want you to know that it is common to have brown and even red bleeding in pregnancy and all be OK. I was terrified and had the scan at 11 weeks and baby was fine x

Positive news, there was a heartbeat and no signs of bleeding from the uterus.
Feeling relieved as I was trying so hard to be positive but had prepared myself for the worst. Thank you all for your kind words of reassurance. Now the wait for the 12 week scan.

Great news - glad all was well. It’s hard to relax when you have had miscarriages but hopefully this provides reassurance until your 12 week scan.
