I’m so scared that I might be pregnant

My parents are strict Muslims, but I don’t believe any religion. But I still am influenced in my head. So I wanted my boyfriend to do anal sex instead which he was skeptical at first but did it. And after a “small amount” leaked down which was wiped away quickly. I then had my period a day or two after. I’m quite irregular. I took a test at the end of my period. It has now been 5 days since I was due (I can be irregular though). I am so scared and worried all the time and have started having panic attacks. I personally am against abortion and if my parents find out I think they will completely shun me and I’m so scared.

It would be very unlikely, people don’t tend to ovulate just before their period.

Going forward, it would be a good idea to double up on contraception (condoms and the pill or IUD).

Yes is there a reason you not to use contraception instead?

FatLarrysBanned · 20/11/2025 15:39

There are lots of ways of avoiding pregnancy other than having anal sex.

If your period is five days late then a test will be positive, so get a test and you’ll know. Also get on highly effective contraception and that will reassure you.

What did the test say and have you taken another test? You can get them cheap from amazon, rather than the expensive fancy ones from boots etc. They're just the test strip bit but equally effective.

You would be very unlikely to be pregnant from what you describe, but sounds like you need to take a pregnancy test to be sure, then take things from there. In the circumstances, it sounds like getting accidentally pregnant would be very difficult for you, so if you’re going to be having sex you absolutely need protection. Condoms would be a very important first step, and also protect you from sexually transmitted disease. In your circumstance, it’s probably sensible to use further precaution as well. If you’re of an age to be having sex, then you’re old enough to see your GP or a sexual health clinic. I presume you need your parents not to know, but you can tell your doctor that you specifically need them not to know for your safety, and they have to respect that. You don’t say how old you are, but remember you don’t have to do anything sexual that you don’t want to.

Please don’t sneer like that to a young woman dealing with her own personal difficulties.

OP ignore.

This is quite common in lots of cultures.

OP I doubt you’re pregnant. Hope you’re OK.

It may not only be to avoid pregnancy but also to still have an intact hymen for the cultural imperative of remaining a virgin until marriage.
