My diet has been pretty inconsistent I’d say. I don’t have any nausea, food aversions, strange cravings. I wouldn’t say I’m hungrier, but I’m definitely allowing myself more freedom with food 😅 Portion sizes definitely gone up and I’m constantly snacking (sweet, savoury, you name it)

8+5 and was trying to lay my head down for a rest when i couldn't stop thinking of cheese on toast. Waited a while but was fixated, made a cheesy beano with some spinach and tomatoes (to try be a bit more nutritious) wolfed it down and have felt really sick ever since haha. last few days all i seem to want is (lots of specific things) on toast. I have grown a little fat belly where there didn't used to be one :S

I feel this. I was craving Greggs potato wedges... Never before and never again. I now feel sick at the thought!!

But I'm just eating for eatings sake. Today it's been...

Cereal
Roll and veg sausage
2 crispy square bars
Packet of crisps

Then about 5 spoonfuls of peanut butter. Not even a craving just pure greed/next to me.

Cheesy beano tho is an absolute fave!!

8 + 4 and just ordered a Five Guys double cheeseburger with loads of fries. Hunger during pregnancy is like no other, it's aggressive and needs to be immediately sedated. I've had that with my first, am experiencing same now with second

@LaVitesse2022 this sounds stunning... I'm lying in bed after eating 2 baked potatoes but could murder some food immediately... Have also brushed my teeth so to sleep it is!!!

Yes! My appetite was through the roof. All I could think about was eating every half hour! All sorts of random crap that I wouldn’t have touched with a barge pole pre-pregnancy. Hashbrowns, my first Big Mac in about 10yrs (🤮), blocks of cheese, jars of Nutella, endless Gu pots, lot of crisps. Really anything and everything went in.

I have to say thankfully I turned a corner at 13 weeks and it’s almost like overnight the food noise has disappeared and I can go back to regular eating rather than constantly thinking about food.

My first pregnancy was nothing like this, and I managing to eat pretty healthy throughout so this was a bit of a shock!

Hah I’m loving this food chat. It’s the furthest I’ve got in a pregnancy and thoroughly enjoying the random urges for certain foods (and even the extreme aversion/nausea is novelty to me). The hunger hits me so hard, I read it was a blood sugar thing? Also OP when you mentioned roll and veg sausage, it reminded me of a specific craving for the veggie square sausage (it’s a Scottish thing) that Simon Howe do, mmm with a potato scone and ketchup in a nice crispy morning roll. If I walk to the faraway shop to source the sausage that’s a fair deal for health right? Haha.

I’ve had 3 pregnancies and was starving in the first 2 trimesters. By the third trimester so much was baby I could hardly eat! My weight gain in all of my pregnancies was at the low end of normal (in my second pregnancy I gained 28lb and had a 10lb baby)

Nightscroller1 · 24/11/2025 07:52

@aLogLady I love the simon Howie vegi black pudding!! It's top tier (also Scottish so know it well) I've never liked a crispy roll, ever. But in the last week I've had 2.

I feel I've turned a corner slightly... Although I said that then just thought of everything I ate this weekend and how tight my jeans are (don't need a belt now - previously I had to get holes put in).

I did eat basically a full jar of m&s hazelnut creme and the remnants are still in the jar down stairs and giving me the boke. I also can't look at Gregg's wedges anymore...

I don't have scales in my house, was at my sister's Saturday night and couldn't bring myself to step on them. First midwife appointment Friday... So will find out then re my weight LOL.

Ahhh pregnancy.

Never had a crispy roll! I used to work in a govan diner when I was a lass and became v v familiar with them hah. I banned myself from eating any fried food while I worked there though which probably was a life saving choice. Tbf I’m in Ayrshire now and there’s not a Morton’s or McGees roll in sight. Glad you’ve had a try now!

and good luck with your first appointment! :)
