GTT worthwhile?

Wwyd?

Bit of background 3rd pregnancy - no issues but been monitored throughout - consultant led and lots of growth scans, 1st baby was prem, 2nd 11 days overdue 7lb 6 both c sections so will be having another c sec.

I had a GTT 4 weeks ago as growth said baby was on the big side but it came back negative. I’m now 37 weeks and last week another growth scan said I had mild Polyhydramnios, so they’ve recommended another GTT.

Plan is to have baby via c section 38+6 anyway so just wondering if it’s actually worthwhile me going for the test again. I found the fasting, glucose drink and waiting around for x2 blood tests a bit excessive and don’t really want to do it again. I feel fine in myself and consultant said plan won’t change even if the result is positive it will just be watching my diet for the next couple of weeks which I’ve been doing anyway.

anyone been in the same situation?

Haven’t been in the same situation but I am type one diabetic, my consultant said at my first appointment that it’s recommended to not go past 39 weeks as a diabetic but at 34 weeks she agreed I could have an induction at 37 weeks due to reduced movements. I’d been having 2 ctg appointments every week from 27 weeks and from 32 weeks she wasn’t passing on the machine after an hour. Anyway at my routine ctg appointment she didn’t pass again so a consultant in triage said they would start my induction that day at 36+1. She was born at 36+4 through c section and was taken to neonatal, spent 3 days there having episodes of low blood sugar amongst other things and I had very well controlled sugar levels throughout my pregnancy. I’d say just go for it as if you have gestational diabetes it’s best for the baby to get it under control as it can causes problems after they are born. My daughter was 9pound 2 at 36 weeks and with controlled sugar levels. My daughter was on the 99th centile for head, abdomen and femur length at my 28 and 32 week scans, I didn’t get round to having the 36 week one as I was having an induction x
