Did you ‘feel pregnant’?

I’m nearing six week pregnant, and have always thought I’d ’feel pregnant’. People talk about knowing they’re pregnant before they even test, but my body doesn’t just feel any different (except the sore boobs). Did you feel pregnant or did it ‘feel’ more real after the scan, baby kicking etc? ☺️

I remember asking the GP this. A week later I was hit by crippling morning sickness. Don't know why it's called morning sickness when you feel beyond hungover 24/7 for four months straight but there you go. So still didn't feel pregnant, just ill. Only felt pregnant when I started to get movements.

I think feeling pregnant is BS to be honest. There’s nothing until morning sickness a few weeks in.

Greenpeanutsnail · 12/11/2025 20:22

I just felt like my period was due to start. Then there was morning sickness, but I still didn’t feel pregnant, just unwell. It was movements and a growing tummy that made me feel pregnant.

I knew I was pregnant each time before I had even missed a period.

No morning sickness, but bloated quickly and very sore boobs. Each time I knew quicker because I recognised the ‘feeling’

I did with my second, I felt weird tummy pulling - even had dh delay booking a trip (correctly). I had zero idea with my first, who i tried for equally hard!

Looow · 12/11/2025 20:25

Yes - by the end of week 5 of each pregnancy I was already throwing up multiple times per day. So I would definitely be delighted to not feel pregnant! Apart from the perpetual vomiting, I didn’t really feel that there was a baby there until bump and movements, which was after the halfway mark.

Yes, by week 6 I was exhausted, dizzy and vomiting. It was very obvious. Many colleagues guessed. Came on practically overnight each time.

Pistachiocake · 12/11/2025 20:27

Yes-a pressure in my stomach, not pain exactly. All 3 times, and it's not just guessing, because every time I said it, I was right and I hadn't tested yet. It is true that some people get no symptoms and it's not as uncommon as you'd think for people to go into labour not knowing they were pregnant.
Also, I got cellulite each time (I wouldn't say this in person, as people might say I'm body shaming myself, but since this is an anonymous forum, well, it's true for me).
More typical signs I had were being off food, tiredness, sore boobs.

I found out at 19 weeks. I definitely didn’t feel pregnant!

Tardigrade001 · 12/11/2025 20:37

Not exactly, but I felt unusually tired when exercising. Before my first one, I was practicing a sport very intensely and competing, so it felt strange, like something was suddenly wrong with me.
Mornings sickness hit at about 7 or 8 weeks I think.

PennyPencils · 12/11/2025 21:41

I didn't with my first, I was 13 weeks when I found out. But I had felt sort of off.
Many years later, having had a fair few pregnancies, now I recognise it. I'd call it a tender feeling. Full/ heavy / delicate lower belly area. Happens from very early on for me each time.

StarsonaNighttimeSea · 12/11/2025 22:23

I knew I was pregnant before taking the test every time ( 1 MC, 2 kids).

Beyond that initial "knowing", I had a small amount of morning sickness each time. However I would regularly forget I was pregnant when I was busy. It wasn't until I would knock the bump on something or get a good kicking I'd be like "oh yeah, you're in there". With my second I was constantly exhausted until...... Well I'm still exhausted, but it started pretty much at conception and didn't let up for the entire pregnancy.

Im 7+5 today and opened this post becuase i had the same question forming in my mind. I’ve felt on and off car sick for a solid few days, but do I feel pregnant? Not really. When symptoms are light and I’m worried (I’ve had bleeding) all I need to do is think about cooked chicken and I want to puke, so that’s reassuring. But I don’t really feel much in my body asides from this.

Timeforabitofpeace · 13/11/2025 09:11

Yes but later than 6 weeks.

Foxtrotbeta · 13/11/2025 09:33

I thought I was hungover but after 2 days I realised it wasn't that and suspected I was pregnant. Felt constantly sick from 4 weeks, even before the positive test! Started vomiting soon after and suffered with HG for 39 weeks.

Exactly this for me!
