I got my faint positive pregnancy test last week which got a bit darker the next day. Then I stopped for the rest of the week and wanted to test this week, I got negative. I did a couple of tests to confirm this.

Prior to the positive test, I had light bleeding which was nothing to my period and that lasted two days. Am I still pregnant? According to the calculation I should be week 6 this Friday and I heard you can get false negative when you are beyond week 5 as hcg is very high.

I never had any bleeding after the faint positive tests as well. I'm thinking the tests could have been faulty and I actually had my period.

Thank you

You're talking about the hook effect. Collect some wee and test it. Then using the same urine sample, dilute it with water so that it's one third wee and two thirds water (roughly, doesn't have to be exact). Then test that. If it's the hook effect you'll get a positive on the second test.
But, from what you've said, I'd be suspicious that this is a chemical pregnancy. So you were pregnant briefly and then miscarried very early.

I did this test yesterday and it came negative. I was thinking chemical too but I read tests would get lighter and in my case, they were getting a bit darker from the first one. Also on the day the bleeding started I tested and it was negative. Both positives came after the bleeding stopped

Sounds most likely a chemical, agree with PP, sorry OP. I hope you get the result you want soon
