35 weeks and period type cramps?

I'm nearly 36 weeks pregnant and having period type pains on and off today. Should i be worried? Was debating calling my midwife but she handed over to another community midwife and i only have the original number. Any advice gratefully received!

if you are worried calll teh labour ward for reassurance

period type pains and practice contractions are normal and par for the course

if you lose any fluid or blood though, get checked out immediately

I would give hte delivery suite a cursory call at this stage.

It sounds as though somethign could be happening or it could be nothing.

At this stage it would technically be premature labour - so they are likely to want to see you - but if it is labour 35+ weeks there shouldn't be any major complications with baby.

Or listen to Lulu....she is hte expert
