Did people correctly predict your babys gender?

Don't flame me for being silly and impatient as I've only got 2 weeks to go til we know for sure anyway but......

We were really hoping for a boy this time round and we tried timing and diet to get one. No-one IRL knows that

Our 22wk scan result came back ambiguous. Baby wouldn't co-operate and legs were closed, but the sonographer said she'd guess girl if she had to with about 70% surety.

Now, Everybody I meet says boy. People are just being so sure about it - even my MW this week. Never had that with DD. Are we being stupid in holding out hope? I had accepted we were going to be a 2 girl family and so had DH but it's so odd how everyone is so insistent it's a boy that I've started to feel it's a boy now as well.

I'm worried I'm starting to set myself up for disappointment when we had accepted we were having 2 girls 20 weeks ago!

Wish people would just not comment!

Anyway, did anyone have the opposite to what the gender scan said? Or, did everybody predict your baby correctly when you thought opposite.

(I'm bored with too much time on my hands I think)

we knew we were having a girl and people still insisted it would be a boy, because of the shape of the bump?!? even when i said no its a girl i was told oooh you might be in for a surprise, i wasnt, dd is a girl!

CatIsSleepy · 07/06/2008 17:03

Everybody thought I was having a boy, they even convinced me so much I forgot to ask what sex the baby wastil dd had been taken away to get wrapped up (I was too zonked to even notice during the skin-to-skin contact). I was quite surprised to hear I'd had a girl, but very pleased.

Some of my friends guessed correct, but I knew what I was having before scan anyway. Don't ask how but i just did from about 10 weeks.

Some of the signs I was told about (don't take seriously, just old superstitious stuff)

  1. Hair line up to your ribs is a boy, hairline to bellybutton is a girl
  2. A girl will steal her mum's beauty (so if you look like crap )
  3. Bump within the hips is boy, all round is girl
  4. craving acid foods is a girl Can't remember any more. Regardless of what gender your baby, you won't be dissappointed(sp). Goodluck. X

A couple of people correctly predicted I was having a boy, because I had a thing for salty crisps.

MrsTittleMouse · 07/06/2008 17:16

DH and I have got it wrong both times. Not that we minded. I tend to carry high and in front, and I've had/am having two girls. And I don't look like crap! I feel like it, mind you...

Yes both pregnancies. My sil (who I'm convinced is psychic) dreamt that we had two little boys running around together. Well 2 months later I was pregnant and 3 months after that she was pregnant. Guess what we both had boys.

At ds1's first birthday party she said that she dreamt I had another baby boy. The next month I was pregnant again with . . . you guessed . . .it a boy.

I told her she should go into business and make scans a thing of the past.
