Awful UTI at 18 weeks pregnant

this is my second week of Nitrofuran antibiotics and doesn’t seem to be working im also taking paracetamol daily. My anxiety of taking antibiotics in pregnancy has had to totally go out the window !!

Anyone taken this and babies been ok? I am so nervous. I have a very hyper toddler so I’m not able to rest at all, even at work it’s constant.

Just feeling really low. Also pregnant with twins so it’s double the anxiety at an all time high.

i was so susceptible to urine infections in my first pregnancy and with my second i thought i would be proactive so started taking optibac intimate and optibac pregnancy probiotics from the get go. Both safe during pregnancy, both available on amazon. i’m just over 36 weeks and my urine dip has been perfect every time; i honestly think these helped a ton. please do your research and see if it’s something that might be of benefit to you. my midwife was so happy i took them! i also drank lots of water too. hope you feel better soon xx

I had a lot in my first pregnancy, and she's now a happy 10.year old, a tip someone gave me was after going for a wee, stand up, jiggle around a bit and then try to go again, the baby or in your case babies growing and putting more pressure on your bladder make it difficult to properly empty the bladder.

Thank you, this pregnancy has been the worst for UTI, my DD I had 1 but managed to clear it in the first trimester!

Still got a burning uti and antibiotics haven’t worked. Ive sent a urine test to my gp this morning and waiting to hear if there is an infection still after taking the antibiotics, if there is I can probably get some more.

just no idea how to clear the burning when I wee I’m worried to take anything else except paracetamol for the pain.

Nurofuran are not affective....they used to make me worse....ask your GP for another antibiotic...also take D-mannose and drink coconut water and cranberry juice add squeeze of lemons to your drinks it really helps flush it out

I hve got the optibac intimate flora and I am going to take 2 a day to try and help me flush it out as apparently this is safe in pregnancy.

im worried to have lemon water as it’s citrus and make make it worse for me.
I’m going to ask GP for another antibiotic which is safe

meant to say i also take optibac pregnancy too just to keep everything balanced xxx there is also one for when you have been taking antibiotics but u think they all do the same job cc
