6 weeks pregnant yesterday, and confirmed after passing blood that I have miscarried.

Im struggling with the pain of these contractions which come and go every few hours and completely take me off my feet.

Im using heat packs, paracetamol doesnt work. Any advice?

I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. If the pain is really bad I’d contact the EPU, can be tricky if you haven’t had a booking appointment and don’t have your pregnancy on the system but call your local one for advice if you’re worried. I’m sure I took ibuprofen and paracetamol and definitely used a hot water bottle a lot but it can be shockingly painful. Do you feel you’ve passed most or all of it?

Codeine with paracetamol if you can take it, worked better than paracetamol on its own for me. I'm sorry, it's bloody awful.

I’m a midwife: ibuprofen has been shown to be the most effective for uterine pain (obviously not advisable in an ongoing pregnancy but fine in this scenario if you can take it). I am sorry you are going through this and good luck.
