Feel like I’ve got narcolepsy at 16 weeks. My bloodwork is totally normal. I want to nap every other day 2-4pm and go to bed at 9:30pm until 7am when my toddler wakes. I’m also SO moody, don’t remember this in my first pregnancy.
did anyone else find week 16 a struggle? Thought second trimester was meant to be easy 😒

I hate to say this but I felt like this the entirety of my second pregnancy! Was SAHM to my toddler which had its challenges but I did nap every day with him.
I don’t know if it’s just not getting the proper rest as your already have a child but yeah it was a struggle. I’m sorry.
FWIW even with sleep deprivation of a newborn I felt like I had a million times more energy as soon as my baby was born. When pregnant I felt like I physically couldn’t do things I was so tired, but since she was born even when exhausted I’m able to get up and go (and drink more coffee)

good luck with everything and sorry to not being a story of hope! Hopefully someone else will!

I was waiting for the magic 12w mark to feel semi functional again with my 3rd. I think my body missed the memo and I only stopped napping every day and being completely exhausted by 7pm again by 18/20 weeks. But even then I still had the odd little 10 minute doze.

My second pregnancy was like this for a most of the time. Then I discovered I was actually iron deficient and the maternity unit somehow mistakenly didn't tell me despite the red flags in my blood test.

Spatone helped in the end.

Makes me feel slightly better that some of you had this experience as well. My iron levels are totally normal, we checked just a few days ago. I think you’re right – a lot of it is having a wild toddler. I’m just so crabby and moody all the time. I need to lay down even if I don’t sleep for hours.

And I agree. Even with newborn sleep deprivation I felt so much more myself last time round than during the pregnancy. I honestly don’t know how we all manage to go to work and function that half of our lives whilst growing a human inside of us.

Also have your B12 and magnesium double checked 👍🏻
