help! im haveing to have a CT Scan 4 a suspected clot, me and my husband are fretting as we have been told there are risks to our baby,anyone been thro the same and came out ok with baby? any advise would be good. thanx!!

Sorry, not much help. I too had a clot in pregnancy, but had an MRI scan. Hopefully someone else will come along who can reassure you.

i had a veinogram in late pregnancy for a supsected blood clot in my leg. i was covered with a lead apron with an extra one over my bump. i did not have a clot as it happened.

if you have a clot i think there are injections you can self administer

why not call your MW or the hospital if oyu are concerned about the treatment you are going to be having, they are there to answer your quesitons

i have spoke to doc who advises i have the scan which is why i want some welcome advise from people in similar situations. im already haveing the injections

The clot was in my iliac vein (in the hip). I got treated with heparin injections. My clot was diagnosed on ultrasound, and they only did an MRI to establish the extent of the clot in the surrounding veins.

As lulumama says, think you should discuss your concerns with the medics - they should be able to explain why they've chosen to do a CT, what your options are, how to minimize risks etc.
