Can’t stop coughing

I’m almost 36 weeks pregnant and have a really irritating cough which I can’t get rid of. I’m coughing for hours every night and have lengthy coughing fits during the day too. It’s a little bit chesty but I don’t think I have a full blown chest infection. Is there anything I can take to dough my throat or help sleep? Not lemon and honey or anything else with sugar as I have GD as well.

Hi OP - id be tempted to get checked by the GP for that as being pregnant you are at risk of blood clots in the lungs. It’s unlikely but best to be safe.

if GP is happy it’s not that then they would be best to advise. Wishing you all the best

Any warm drink (fruit tea?) if you don't want the sugar
I'm currently 39w and have the same cough! Been on just warm water because I hate honey and lemon!
You could maybe see if breathing in steam helps ease it?
Yoghurt to help coat the throat?
Apparently onions on the soles of your feet helps coughs but I've never tried!
