Hi, currently just over 8 weeks with my third and feeling awful. Nausea is my worst symptom, lack of energy also a big one but can cope with that. Was started on Ondansetron 3 days ago and the first 2 days felt like such a massive improvement, today is back to awfulness though. Also massively emotional and finding the day to day nearly impossible. Anyone else out there to join in my misery and help me feel less lonely??

I am utterly miserable too, @olivewalls 😫

I'm ten weeks now, so really hoping things improve soon. It's the nausea that's worst for me.

I've tried three medications, ondansetron did help but gave me stomach pains and made me constipated so I just felt like it was swapping one issue for another. Then went onto Xonvea but can only get that as a private prescription which is expensive and hard to get hold of so I keep having gaps. It's also making me exhausted. So think I am going to go back to ondanestron but ask for something to help with the constipation. I will say it took about five days for that to make me feel better and I have heard it can take up to a week so would say stick with it!

The only thing getting me through is knowing it went away completely by 14 weeks with my first pregnancy. Really hoping for the same, if not sooner.

This is my second pregnancy and whilst I’m pretty sure my symptoms are similar in severity to my first, this time around has felt so much harder because I have a toddler to care for. I feel so low most days as I only get relief from the nausea (and now, headaches) when I am asleep. I can’t believe that women have been allowed to feel this way since the beginning of time. I used to want three children, but I’m almost certain we will stop at two because I don’t think I want to go through the first trimester again. You are not alone, solidarity and well done for getting out of bed each day and getting on. This morning my toddler went to playgroup and I got back in bed fully clothed after drop-off!

So nice to hear from others in the same position, although I’m sorry that you are. It feels so isolating. Thanks for the info on Ondansetron, I’ve actually had a stomach ache since starting it but have been too unmotivated to look at the leaflet or google side effects, it really helped the first couple of days so I won’t give up hope just yet. It currently feels like such a long road ahead. Did the Xonvea help? Pregnancy Sickness Support advice line suggested I requested that next to take alongside the Ondansetron.

Are you both still working through it? Luckily I’ve been an annual leave but due back soon and I just don’t think I can do it.

The Xonvea did help, but where I’ve had a few days not taking it because I had to wait to get more tablets it’s taken me back to square one with the nausea. So I’m going back to the other one and hope I only have a few more weeks of needing it 🤞🏻

i’ve been off work for two weeks, can’t see I’ll be ready to go back until I’m over feeling like this. It’s awful. I mainly work from home too but can’t even manage that, that’s how bad I feel!

It is so lonely. I find myself feeling guilty on top of everything else because I know how much some people long to fall pregnant. I have been working from home for the last month. I work three days per week and will also be on annual leave the week after next, for ten days. By the time I go back I’ll be 14 weeks and just hoping I feel much better by then. Right now I’m in survival mode!

I think I’ll have to go off sick too, my job is very people facing and quite active and just walking up the stairs is finishing me off at the moment. @SilentRefluxAdvicePleasefair play for continuing to push through with work, it must be exhausting. I had a look through my two previous pregnancy books and I’ve written at 17 weeks in both of them that I started feeling better, 17 weeks! 😭😭😭 I do have a private scan tomorrow so we can finally tell the kids (7&4) so I’m hoping that’ll give a little mood boost.
