OMG - these hurt - just arrived today.

I got piles and an anal fissue (sorry tmi) after birth of DS and they took forever to heal.

I am 20 weeks now and they seem to be back

any tips /advice/suggestions ?? (I am desperate)

I am going to start taking fibregel so I don't have to strain too hard but to be honest i have not been constipated so i don't know why they have just arrived.

I got myself into such a state last time that it really overshadowed teh first few weeks of motehrhood and I am upset that they are here already.

sob

prunes and also drink lots of fluid too

You dont need to be constipated to have piles as it does happen there and then im afraid. (ive been there with DD).

I hope so, cos I've been using Anusol (19 wks preg)

Piles all gone now though, thank God!!

JamInMyWellies · 06/06/2008 21:12

prep H the gel works a treat, and as far as I am aware yes you can use while preg

Jojay · 06/06/2008 21:12

It didn't say not to, on the packet

rachelgreen · 06/06/2008 21:15

my midwife recommended anusol and it was fine

gemmummy · 06/06/2008 21:18

very sympathetic...i had these, made bf'ing agony first few weeks. contributed to decidingto mixed feed. hope you get sorted. i found a bowl of fruit and fibre every day made a massive difference.

There's a herbal version of Preparation H that you can get. I used it, at my midwife's advice, on my varicose veins.

I second what science teacher said, i used the herbal prep H gel and it sorted mine out, took a little while so most likely not as strong as conventional (sp?) stuff but was still a relief!
