Confused by different scan dating

I have had a few private and NHS scans and I am currently 14ish weeks. At each scan I have had, I have measured at a different gestational age eg my NHS 12 week scan was 5 days ahead of the private scan I had had a few weeks before and would have meant I conceived 5 days before I ovulated (tracked by observation of EWCM and temperature). Today I had another scan with a different measurement which put me 2 days ahead of that meaning I conceived a week before I ovulated? My due date keeps changing according to these scans (although I know the NHS one is the 'official' one and I feel so confused by it all. Is it just that my baby is a bit bigger than normal? I can't see how I would have conceived pre ovulation

Out of three pregnancies all were “ahead” of when I knew I had conceived. One of my friends had her conception date set by the scan as before her last period lol. At the end of the day it’s an average measurement.

If you know when you ovulated and when you had sex, then you know when you conceived better than the person carrying out the scan. I found that both of my kids were ‘off’ by at least a week. The one which measured a week older was 4kg the one which measured a week under was 3kg.

The baby doesn’t grow straight along a diagonal line. They’ll have fits and bursts of growth, and it doesn’t mean you ovulated at a different time just because they’re a little ahead at one appointment, or a little behind.

Also, they’re going by a measurement that ends up varying massively baby to baby. I wouldn’t look too much into it if they’re unconcerned.

Is that you Charlotte Chilton?

Also you are 14 weeks. How have you had three scans already.

@gejrhrjdnbbrrrnrthere were concerns I had an ectopic alongside my womb pregnancy so I needed to be monitored

@Zapx@Roastiesarethebestbit@EmPeEfthank you, that is reassuring 😊

I'm 14 weeks and I've had 5 scans (4 with recurrent miscarriage clinic and my dating scan) every 2 weeks.
They have all given very different due dates. One was 5 days behind, a couple were only a day out and one was 5 days ahead. My 12 week scan that I had at 13 weeks was only 1 day ahead of what my ovulation date would put me at.

They have growth spurts so measurements could be quite different from one day to the next. As long as everything else is looking good it's very normal.
