Cervical length scan

Is anyone getting a cervical length scan for peace of mind? I am low risk but i have anxiety surrounding this so i would like a scan to calm my nerves. When is the best time to get the scan in my case? I am going to ask at my 20 week scan if they can have a glance using the trans abdominal ultrasound but i know that isnt the most accurate way to measure. So should i book one at 18 weeks or maybe 22 weeks? Thank you.

It's usually conducted between 16 and 24 weeks @Jenny124501

@Arregaithelthank you, i can only afford one private scan unfortunately so along with hopefully having a glance at 20 weeks when else is a good time?

I have no medical knowledge @Jenny124501 am just googling.

This site gives more info

Timing of serial cervical length scanning:

• For previous preterm labour cervical length scans should be undertaken at 20, 22 and 24 weeks.

• For women with a previous 2nd trimester loss, cervical surgery or uterine anomaly offer fortnightly scans from 14- 24 weeks

If you're anxious but without previous experience of pre-term labour I'm not sure this information would give you the necessary reassurance tbh. 🌼

unless you’ve been told you’re at risk of pre term labour I wouldn’t bother. Also if that’s the case it
would usually be done on the nhs. I had a second trimester loss (preeclampsia) but opted out of the scan as I felt it too invasive and I wasn’t at risk of pre term labour.

This was for a subsequent pregnancy

Im having one when il be 22 & half weeks

I’m at high risk of pre term labour so I’ve had one done at 20 and 24 weeks. I’ll have another at 28, 32 and 36 weeks as well as additional growth scans on those weeks.
