6 weeks pregnant tomorrow - last night had some slight cramping felt like period pains. This morning when wiping at toilet there was a lot of brown discharge and a stringy bit of mucus on toilet paper. It is definitely brown not red. Can anyone tell me their experiences? I rang EPU and they have advised it is quite common and just to sit and wait but can’t help worrying

I had this in two prior pregnancies. Turned out fine both times.

@Outside9 was it quite a lot and how long did it last? I’m unsure what is bad and what looks ok so worried x

If its bright red blood thats when you need to see EPAU.
Brown bleeding is old blood, it could be that you've some how irritated your cervix and its just come away with your discharge, thats why EPAU wont be worried about it.

If it carries on over the next few days id ring them again and seek advice

I had this all through my pregnancy and baby is 24 now 😊

As awful as it is there isn't anything you can do apart from wait, I remember the worry like it was yesterday x

I’ve had some more bleeding and it is red now. But not filling a pad just when I wipe. Going to ring them. Fearing the worst now x

Yes in my first pregnancy there was a lot. Enough for me to go EPU.

They asked me to go in the following week, but I had a holiday arranged so had to go week after that. I still bleeding at times during the holiday which was difficult.

Ultimately everything was fine. The baby is now 3.5 yrs and yapping away as I write this.
