Braxton Hicks or just the baby moving?

I'm 30 weeks and starting to wonder if a sensation I've experienced for several weeks now, occasionally, has been Braxton Hicks, as they have gotten stronger recently. It's like a squeezing feeling from the inside, which I originally thought was baby pushing firmly against me or actively squeezing something with his hand. The feeling was originally very localised to just one spot at the top of my belly, to the right of centre. Then I would occasionally feel it in a localised spot at the bottom of my belly to the left. Often I could trigger it or make it stronger by resting my hand on that spot. Recently the sensation starts in one spot and then spreads across my belly or down, which sounds more like Braxton Hicks. This evening I am feeling it throughout the top half of my belly in waves. I'd just like to know as I've confidently stated so far that I haven't felt any but maybe I'm wrong!

I'm going to be honest with you, I've had multiple children now and I still don't know what Braxton Hicks are. It's so confusing so you're not alone OP.

From what I can remember the 'waves' feeling was movement and Braxton Hicks felt like my whole bump was tightening and hard

Maybe? It doesn't sound like the braxtons hicks I had, but they could be different for you. Mine was a tightening of my whole belly, like all my stomach muscles contracting.

Mine was the same as the poster above, the whole of the belly went very tight, had it more with this 2nd pregnancy to be honest. Can’t remember with my first but the whole of my belly goes very very tight mainly when on long walks or in certain positions

Thanks everyone, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who isn't sure what they might feel like! It sounds like these squeezing sensations are just baby up to his antics. I have noticed my belly gets very firm from time to time but it's usually after eating so I assumed it was just baby and stomach competing for room 😂

Like PPs, when I had BHs, the whole bump would tighten. ‘Squeezing’ would definitely describe the sensation but it was the whole thing- I could actually see the bump go rigid. I had them from 20 weeks until birth. (Not constantly!)
