yes but does sound like the start of labour

lulumama · 06/06/2008 13:51

you might have an upset tummy

you might be having braxton hicks

or labour might be rumbling

is there any regularity to the pains? are they getting stronger? do they die off if you move around? could yuo sleep through them? if you have a bath, do they disappear?

i would call midwife and see about being checked out, just to be safe.

if you lose a gush of fluid, then get to labour ward pronto

That's how I've been feeling recently and I'm nearly 38 weeks now. - had really painful lower backache the other night, loads of loose poos throughout the day and my bump just feels hard and sore.

The backache seems to have subsided now, few more loose poos today though, bump was really sore last night but fine today. I think this is just how the very last few weeks feel TBH.

With DD1 my waters broke at midnight after a sweep at Term+12 after I had been nesting like mad that week, so it was all pretty straightforward none of this 'is this it?guess work going on.

Mummy2bsoon, how are you?

catsypug, my waters broke with ds, at 38wks, after a day on the loo, pooing for england. Think it's your body clearing everything out. My mum said that it happens with lots of people but haven't heard anyone else mention it. But then, you wouldn't would you!

Good luck to you both xx

Could possibly be the baby descending and pressing on the cervix and bowel. I'm 33 weeks and DS has had his left shoulder against my bowel for a week now (and it farking hurts and makes you want to poop continually) plus his head on my cervix which causes a lot of pain). Oh and he's pressing nicely on my sciatic nerve causing backache and pains down my legs.

Little darling
