Hi!

This is my first time posting so apologies if the format and all is a bit clumsy. I’ve just had my “period” after getting a positive result just over a week ago so I assumed a chemical pregnancy. However it was shorter and much lighter than normal - I had one and a half day of what I would say “moderately heavy” bleeding followed by 4 days of very light flow/spotting which is very unusual for me as I have endometriosis and my periods are usually very long and heavy. I did another test but I’m not sure if I have severe line eyes, if it is an indent or if it’s still showing as really faint. Is anyone able to help?

I feel a bit silly as I’m almost sure there’s nothing there but I am getting extremely sore boobs and nausea.

Here is a slightly clearer picture

I do think it looks like an evaporation line but it appeared immediately which is what’s making me think otherwise.

I thought it looked faint and I would try again in a week I had a negative test result a week before my period and took another one when i was one day late and it came up 2-3 weeks pregnant 🤷🏼‍♀️ and I also had really sore boobs

Thank you for replying! What’s worrying me is I thought I’d had a “period” when I was due on the 23rd, it’s just that it was so much lighter than usual. I would hope that if it was implantation it would be darker by now.

sorry OP but I think if you’ve had a positive and then a bleed and you were still pregnant then line would be very visible by now, and I can’t really see anything on the test.

DancingThroughLife02 · 30/10/2025 09:32

Thank you @Edenmum2, that’s what I was afraid of. It really does look like an evaporation line especially now about 45 mins on, it’s just that the initial line appeared immediately on the test. Does anyone know how soon HcG levels should go down if it was a chemical pregnancy? As it has now been about 11 days since the initial very faint positive and this waiting and wondering has felt like the worst part 🙁

Do you have any other tests in, these gave me 3 false positives. Fingers crossed for you though!!

hyperharrii · 30/10/2025 17:23

I can definitely see a line in the last picture but I have also heard that you can still have a period and be positive the top test definitely has a line and if it's early itll be faint maybe check with a doctor just to be sure 🤷🏼‍♀️ but the top test on the last picture I can definitely see a line are they the most recent tests?

SoubbG · 30/10/2025 19:02

The top one in the last picture looks like an evap. It’s thin and doesn’t run all the way to the top. I wouldn’t take that as positive. Those tests often give “false positives” which are evaps and dye runs.

DancingThroughLife02 · 30/10/2025 20:34

Just an update - I started to bleed really heavily and ended up going to a walk in unit where they confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy as it would have been 6 weeks along by now and beta HcG levels seem low 🙁

I knew it in my heart and we weren’t trying but so disheartening all the same when you think it might be and all of a sudden it’s gone. Thank you to all who responded ❤️

I think just for next time (hopefully) I’ll stay away from these and stick to digital or pink dye tests though as these seem to cause more heartache from what I’ve read about how often they come up with evap lines.
