Clear blue positive, other tests negative

I took a clear blue test yesterday (around 10DPO) and got a positive result straight away but then today (11dpo) have taken two clear and simple strip tests and both are negative. Starting to freak out a bit - is it just too early for the cheap clear and simple tests or could it possibly be a false positive?

Clear blues do have a reputation for evap lines and false positives. If it came up straight away though it might be positive, although 10 dpo sounds a bit early to be testing? When is your period due?

Should be due Friday

I’m not sure I’d count that as positive. It’s very thin. Clearblue are known for getting thin blue lines that aren’t real. Some people call them evaps or indents or dye runs etc but whatever you call them they are upsetting many women unfortunately. I would either wait to see if your period arrives or find a digital test with a sensitivity of 10miu.

I’m really sorry, and I absolutely might be wrong, but I’ve been told here before by others about my own tests and they were right, that when clear blue get a thin line like that, it’s not a true positive. Totally could be wrong, and also 10dpo still means there’s time for a positive test if this one isn’t.

id test again in the morning. Good luck op.

Now I've seen the pic of the test I wouldn't trust that to be a positive. The line looks too faint and thin. I would wait a few days and if your period doesn't show then test again

NessShaness · 29/10/2025 22:51

Clearblue are notorious for those lines OP, it’s not a positive.

It needs to be as thick as the control line to be positive. Lots of women, including me, have had those horrible thin blue lines and thought they were positive.

Use a pink dye test in future x

Retested with a digital and it's a bfp! Thanks for all your replies. I went down and evap rabbit hole and from what I understand that usually comes later than the 3 minute window? I reckon what happened is I got a faint positive (which showed immediately) and later on the line got darker and thinner (maybe evap on top of a positive?) since I don't think I took that photo immediately!!

Ahh that’s brilliant news congratulations!!x

Congratulations!!!

Ah yeah @Walkingthewayhome i could imagine that happening! I think those thin indent lines can come up really quickly, but then who’s to say there’s not a bfp lurking below, so pleased for you!! No one can argue with the digital 😎
