Weight gain (or lack of) in pregnancy

I’m just curious of other people’s experience with weight gain. I’m 27 weeks pregnant and I weight the same as I did at the beginning. Baby is behaving and growing normal etc etc so I’m obviously gaining weight but also clearly burning some too to still be the same. Has this happened to anyone at this stage? Partner says I was the same in my last pregnancy but I don’t really remember!

How is your bump size? I was measuring under for bump size so had to have regular growth scans. My bump was so small I had to explain to someone I was pregnant when I was 38 weeks!
If I remember rightly I did gain weight, but not significantly. Now I'm thinking about it, I didn't really weigh myself often, I just monitored the bump size.
If your midwife isn't concerned then I wouldn't be either, enjoy eating the extra food and not have the weight gain.

Yes!

I was overdue with all 3 of my babies and was only between 5 and 7lbs heavier just before I gave birth.

They weighed 7lb, 6lb 13oz and 7lb.

I weighed the same when i got pregnant with ds1 as i did the day before he was born. I had awful morning sickness with him.

Thanks everyone good to know. Bump is pretty normal and measuring normal so no concerns about baby. I just figured I’d have gained more. I’m quite active but no exercising either. My son was 9lbs 4 so in my head this baby will be similar and I should at least gain that but still time to gO.

I barely gained any weight during my recent pregnancy. I was pretty slim before getting pregnant so I figured my bump would show quite early but, by 24 weeks, my stomach was still quite flat. Even at full term I only had a small bump which was barely visible in clothes. All of my pre-pregnancy clothes still fitted fine so I saved money on maternity wear! This was my first baby so I was extremely concerned about the lack of weight gain and bump size. However, I was having regular growth scans, due to other pre-existing health issues, and these showed that baby was growing well and steadily plotting around the fiftieth percentile. It didn't help that well-meaning people kept telling me how massive they were when they were as pregnant as me, which made me even more worried!
In the end our perfect baby was born two weeks before her due date by pre-scheduled c-section and weighed exactly 7lb and was completely healthy. I am not sure where she was hiding so the mystery of my missing bump will remain unsolved!

Daughter - lost 3-4 kg in the first trimester. Gained that back by 20 weeks then put on weight irregularly so would go 3 or 4 weeks without gaining weight then would put on 1kg in a few days. I started to lose weight again in the third trimester when my hyperemesis returned. I ended the pregnancy about 8kg up on pre pregnancy. Baby was 6lb13 at 38+6 and I was back at pre pregnancy weight by 10 days and by 10 months I had lost another 8-9kg and was very under weight

Son. Didn't lose weight in first trimester. Had gained 1kg by 12 weeks then steadily gained weight by 24-5 week I was 4kg up. At 29 weeks I was 6kg up and then I didn't gain any more weight and between 34-36 weeks I lost a kg. I finished pregnancy at 37 weeks 5.5kg up on pre pregnancy and baby was 6lb12. I was back to normal weight by the time I got home on day 3 and I'm 1kg down at 7 weeks postpartum. I'm trying hard to not lose weight because of how unwell I got with my daughter. I'm a slim build so don't have a lot of weight to lose. My mum only every gained about a stone in her pregnancies with 6-7lb babies.

I lost weight during my pregnancy. Maybe 5 or 6lbs and baby was born weighing 7lbs 50th percentile.

I think I was conscious of eating better, drinking lots of water and obviously burning energy growing a whole baby.
