Hi, I had an early ultrasound at the EPU 10 days ago to rule out ecoptic. Was measuring 5weeks 3 days and everything was fine and we saw a heartbeat. Today I went for a private scan, could not detect heartbeat and measuring at 6 week 1 day. They have referred me back to EPU. I'm absolutely spiralling, I have been feeling fine, not had any bleeding at all so completely opposite to my previous loss. I'm pretty 100% certain it's another loss but my partner is saying everything will be fine. Anyone had similar experiences with private clinics being wrong?

I went to a private scan for my third pregnancy.
She said i had a perfect sac and congratulated me, i toddled off not thinking anything different and that all was ok
That night i started bleeding. I went to EPAU and they said the sac isnt perfect. Its started coming away quickly and will have been starting to droop at the scan i went to and baby was actually measuring 6 weeks and 2 days and i should have had a second opinion around that even if it was a private scan as they should have been able to see a heartbeat and didnt.

They royally fucked up with my scan and allowed me to pay £80 for false information.

Dont trust private scans when your early.

I hope it all works out ok for you. Sending you love 💐

I'm so sorry you've had this scan after such a positive one - I've only ever had nhs scans (without good news) so have never reached for a private scan, but I do agree with the above poster's sentiment as I've heard a lot on here and reddit of private scanners giving inaccurate news good or bad. I really hope this is that case. very best of luck.

Are they absolutely sure they saw a heartbeat at 5 week 3 days? That’s so early. I thought the earliest is around 6 weeks…

Try not to panic (I know that’s easier said than done). At my EPU you can just phone up in the morning and book yourself in - are you able to do that at yours? You could go in on Monday then for another scan.

Keeping everything crossed for you, I really hope the private scan was wrong. ❤️

Yes, this was a transvaginal at the EPU and we saw the flicker on the screen and confirmed heartbeat

Yeah they have booked me in for Monday morning. Honestly I have had so many scans over the last few months now it's so draining. This pregnancy is straight after a loss so my anxiety is already high. Nothing seems straight forward 🤦

Was the private one transvaginal?

Just wanted to update this thread that I had it confirmed this morning that I have had a missed miscarriage. Should have been 8 weeks today but only measuring 6 and no heartbeat. 👎
