Colouring hair during pregnancy

Forgive the vanity. Is it best to avoid colouring your hair during pregnancy? Google (even NHS advice) is so inconsistent on this. I know it’s not important but I look like Hagrid.

It’s solely because hormones may make the colour take differently. There’s no risk of harm.

It’s fine, I’ve done it during both pregnancies.

Thanks! Were your midwives/ doctors ok with it? My hair salon advise against it but I’m unclear why.

My midwife said its fine. Get a patch test again though, pregnancy makes the skin alot more sensitive. Ive had highlights all the way through this pregnancy.

have you asked them and they’ve still not specifically said why? How odd. Yeah midwives and doctors would care less about you having it done. I got mine done all the way through. Mine used to be painted on bleach and when I was pregnant it snapped but it’s likely just over bleach and nothing to do with pregnancy as it’s snapped since and not when pregnant.

it will be fine. Get to a new salon.

I continued to dye my hair through both pregnancies. It's a personal choice, but it did me or my children no harm.
