Clearblue 2-3 weeks panic

First post but I’m losing my mind! My period tracker shows I’m 6wk 3d pregnant. I took my first Clearblue digital at 4wk 6d and got 2-3 weeks and am still testing the same. Has anyone had this and it’s ok? I had a miscarriage 2 months ago so praying this isn’t a sign of another one. I even ripped the tests apart to see the lines and it’s just confused me more.

Clear blue digital tests only go from when you conceived not from LMP.
Your period tracker will take you from LMP which may show 6 weeks.

This is what it shows for clear blue digital so it sounds about right.

"2-3 weeks" result on a Clearblue digital pregnancy test means conception occurred approximately 2 to 3 weeks ago. This is calculated from the time of conception, not the first day of your last menstrual period.

You arent actually pregnant for the first 2 weeks as you have to date it from the start of your LMP.

You bleed for a week, another week you ovulate.

Which will show you being around 4 weeks pregnant.

The tests will only go from how concentrated your urine is.

If you drink a glass of water an hour before you test it will dilute you're urine and show lower HCG.

You just have to wait for a scan, if you have any issues speak to your GP and see if they will refer you to EPAU, they will only scan you from 6 weeks some only scan from 7 weeks for better results.

Thanks, I have an early scan booked in for next Wednesday given my previous miscarriage but spending the wait torturing myself with testing. I’ve just read so much online where testing 2-3 this late ends badly

hey @Nibs93 i understand your worry (1 misscarriage 1 ectopic and early pregnant again). I will say, from my history, ive read so much online about people's experiences with cb digi, and i think the consensus is that they're more trouble than theyre worth. There are bands for hcg that make it move into the next category, but if you fall outside of those bands for example, slower rising hcg or ovulating a bit later than you realised, or indeed being a good water drinker then you might not fit into those bands. nothing but a blood test would tell you what your hcg was, and 'normal' for that period is a vast wide canyon! Do you know what dpo you are?

I once had a 1-2 week show on mine from fmu, and I was upset. I impulsively took another a little later on that day and it showed 2-3.

I use strip tests to monitor progression (given my history) and am too scared to take a digital as my strip tests are showing a nice progression and I'd hate the digital to flatten out what appears as a nice rise. at least with visual tests, you can see fluctuations day to day but an overall rise over time.

edited: I dont know how i managed to strikethrough a bit of that - i didnt mean to!

I really wouldn’t worry about this based on the CB result - by my calculations you’re totally fine with 2-3 weeks, as it’s 2-3 weeks since conception.

Thank you, and sorry for your losses and congrats on your pregnancy :) I know I’m probably making it worse by keep testing but feel so helpless just waiting! I think my dpo would be about 32 but really not sure what any of it means to be honest.

Hi @Nibs93, can I ask how you got on at your scan? I am in a very similar predicament - 6w2d going by my LMP but only 2-3 weeks on clearblue. Not feeling very optimistic!

Nibs93 · 29/10/2025 15:28

Hi @ali2021 just had my scan this morning and measuring at 5-6 weeks with no heartbeat yet. My dates say I should be 7+1 now so I’m feeling a bit hopeless but I’ve been asked to come back in 2 weeks and see how I’ve progressed so still in limbo :/ The doc did say it can be due to late ovulation or a slow grower so I will update in 2 weeks. Sorry it’s not better news, sending you love x

Hi @Nibs93 , so sorry it wasn't a more favourable scan. The limbo is just killer. I also had an early viability scan today at 6w2d, but baby was 5w5d and no heartbeat yet. Possibly late implantation but I have an awful feeling! Sending lots of positive energy to you over the next 2 weeks. Best of luck for your next scan xx

Hi @ali2021fingers crossed for you as well, hopefully we both have good news really soon, do keep me updated on how you get on xx
